Sangli; Five killed, one injured after being hit by a car

Five people died and one was injured after falling into a well in Sangli district of Maharashtra in the early hours of Monday. A police officer said the victims were going to attend the funeral of a relative.

The car driver apparently lost control of the wheels, causing the vehicle to fall into a well located on the roadside near the village of Parekar Wadi in Attapadi tehsil. “Five people were killed and one was injured in the crash,” he said.

The injured person was taken to a nearby hospital, he said, adding that the bodies were sent for postmortem.
