Only 12.73 percent water storage in the lake that supplies water to Mumbai

12.73 percent water storage is available in the reservoir which supplies water to Mumbai with reserves. This water reserve is only enough for 36 days and now heavy rains are waiting.
3 thousand 800 million liters of water is supplied to Mumbai every day. Water is supplied to Mumbaikars from Urdhwa Vaitrana, Modak Sagar, Tansa, Madhya Vaitrana, Bhatsa, Vihar, Tulsi lakes. The state government has given permission to use the reserves of Bhatsa and Urdhva Vaitrana dams.
The remaining water storage will be filled till the month of July. There are few days left for the month of June. If heavy rains do not start soon, there is a possibility of water cut.
