#Aadipurush : Role reversal and duplicity exposed

Shekhar Joshi
The roles of the so-called hypocritical progressives and retrogressives are seen to have been reversed on the occasion of the controversial film ‘Adipurush’ directed by Om Raut. And the duplicity of both sides has also been exposed.

After the release of the teaser/trailer of the film six months ago, the director Om Raut and the presentation of the film were criticized at the same time. In fact, from that teaser itself, it was realized that the film is broken, ugly and distorts the image of Ramayana in the minds of all Indians.

At that time BJP MLA Ram Kadam opposed the film while Amey Khopkar of MNS supported Raut. Watch the full movie and then decide, Om Raut is a Hindutva vadi, he suggested. The film was released. And now BJP’s Deputy Chief Minister, Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis along with all the BJP leaders, people’s representatives and MNS, Raj Thackeray are all in the dark.

A modern-day brutal Muslim terrorist or historical brutal Afzal Khan, Ravana disguised as a subversive Muslim look-alike, Hanuman approaching him, a hideous and bat-like Pushpak Vimana, dark Lanka, a tattooed Indrajit, tapori-type dialogues with Hanuman’s ‘jali’ in his mouth and many more. some.

All of this is unconvincing. In the name of doing something new, different, in the name of directorial freedom, Om Raut has presented Adipurush in a perverse and horrible way, anyone who has interest, love and respect for Indian culture, our Vedas, Puranas, mythological gods and goddesses will be annoyed. It is wrong for someone to support this with a flag.

People who are proud of Hinduism, Indian culture, traditions are known as right wing people, they are derisively called reactionary. Whereas the faith of the majority, their deities, Hinduism, Hindu culture, promoting minorities especially Muslims is considered to be progressive. The films Kashmir Files, Kerala Story were opposed by these hypocritical progressives.

In fact, both the film depicted what happened in India regarding the Kashmir issue and the horrific reality of love jihad, respectively. Which was bitterly true. The film was opposed by pseudo-progressives who at other times would stick their necks out in the name of freedom of expression. It included all progressives like Congress, Left, Socialist, Atheism, Pantheism.

He demanded that both films should be banned. While BJP, which calls itself Hindutva, leaders of Vishva Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal and some other Hindutva organizations supported the film. Even Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who said that we have come with BJP on the issue of Hindutva, has not condemned or opposed the film. Now Shinde group MP Shrirang Barne has demanded a ban on the film.

Now in the case of Adipurush, the same roles have been reversed. It seems that Adipurusha is an overt image distortion of Ramayana and its characters. But still not a single BJP leader, MP, office bearer in Maharashtra or in the country has demanded to ban the film after its release. Director Om Raut, dialogue writer Manoj Muntsheer have not objected/condemned from presentation.

Hindutvadis, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Adipurush, who are talking about banning the movie because she wore a saffron bikini in the movie ‘Pathan’, are silent. And on the contrary, the so-called progressives such as Leftists, Congressmen, Socialists are speaking against the film. They are demanding a ban. Raj Thackeray, MNS are also silent.

Basically, it is a puzzle how the film was cleared by the Central Censor Board. Famous theater director Vaman Kendra, Hindutva and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh volunteer Ramesh Patange are members of the same Central Censor Board. Lecturer, orator Satchidananda Shevde has worked as expert scholar for the film. Devdutt Nage who played the role of ‘Khandoba’ is playing the role of Hanuman in this film. Apart from this, Ajay Atul, Prasad Sutar, Tejaswini Pandit, Sonali Khare are also associated with the film.

Did they all work with hoods and blindfolds? The teaser of the movie and now even after the release of the movie is getting huge criticism from all quarters, social media is expressing very upset feelings, but all these people are silent. Supporting the actions of Om Raut, Manoj Muntashir or some of the above is totally unacceptable and irritating. It takes courage to admit that you are wrong, that you have eaten soil, you should show it.

You have done your own thing to break the image that common Marathi people have about you. ‘Worked/done, got everything’ Now let anything happen. It is your role that people will talk for four days and forget through society. That’s why you are all silent. Say you are right too. It is true, people forget everything in four, eight days. Despite knowing that such writing will not make any difference, he has expressed his heartache. I wrote what I thought.
