Weeding out terrorism, security forces kill two terrorists in an encounter in J&K’s Shopian
In its quest to weed out terrorism from its core, the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir are leaving no stones unturned. Continuing it, the security forces have killed two terrorists in an encounter in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir.

It has been reported that a joint team of Army’s 1 RR, SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police and the CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Awneera following inputs about the presence of militants there. The search operation turned into an encounter after terrorists opened fire towards security forces.
The police spokesman said, “Two terrorists were killed in the retaliatory firing by the security forces. Arms and ammunition were recovered from the scene of the encounter.” Furthermore, he said the identity and the group affiliation of the terrorists were being ascertained.

The spokesman informed that the slain duo has been identified as Sayar Ahmad Bhat son of Sanauallah of Manchowa Kulgam and Shakir Ahmad Wagay of Awneera Shopian. Both the slain, it said, were affiliated with Ansar Gazwatul Hind (AGH) militant outfit and were wanted by law in several cases.
The mobile internet connection has also been suspended in the area due to the encounter.
