Two men sentenced to death for rape, the murder of a minor girl

Hooghly district court on Monday sentenced two people to death for raping and murdering a minor girl in .oo. District and Sessions Judge Manas Ranjan Sanyal sentenced Gaurav Mandal and Kaushik Malik to death. The other accused, a minor, is being prosecuted in juvenile court.

On the evening of December 7, 2014, while returning home from child education, the girl abducted her at Jiraat in the Balgadh police station area. The three raped her, murdered her and dumped her dead on the Ganges.

Her body was found the next day, and three accused were arrested within three days.
