Five new COVID-19 cases in Nashik

Five more individuals tested positive for coronavirus in Nashik, an official said, adding that the total number of such cases in Maharashtra district is 20. An official of the district administration said that all the new patients including three women and two men are from Malegaon city.

He said that of the 53 swab samples sent for testing, the results of five came positive around midnight Saturday and 48 were negative. Earlier, on April 8, a COVID-19 death was reported from the district.

Meanwhile, a 30-year-old man belonging to Pimpalgaon Najik village near Lasalgaon in Niphad taluka, the first coronavirus patient in the district, has been found, the official said.

His second report late Saturday night also came negative after the treatment, saying the man tested positive for coronavirus on March 29.
