Two killed in a motorcycle-truck collision in Thane
Two people on a motorcycle were killed on Friday when they hit a truck at Kishore Elephant Naka Junction in Thane city of Maharashtra. Police said.

The incident occurred around 9.45 pm on Thursday, when a Gujarat-registered truck collided with a motorcycle, causing two Mulund residents, a Naupada police official said.
Santosh Kadam, head of Disaster Management Cell of Thane Municipal Corporation, said that motorcyclist Prateek Avinash Ganatra (23) died on the spot, while Pilar rider Prashant Ghatge (22) died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The police officer said that the truck driver has been arrested and a case has been registered against him under the provisions of section 304 (not guilty of murder and Motor Vehicles Act in the case of murder) of the Indian Penal Code.
He said the bodies of the victims have been sent for postmortem and the police are investigating the case.
