Treating cancer at a toddler age is painful – Governor Bais

Governor Ramesh Bais said here today that it is painful to see children undergoing treatment for cancer at an age when they are supposed to be playing and studying.
50 children with cancer undergoing treatment at Tata Memorial Hospital along with their parents met Governor Bais at Raj Bhavan Mumbai, he was speaking at that time. The program was organized by Tata Memorial Center – Impact Foundation and Krish Sports Foundation.
In such a situation, the mental condition of the children and their parents cannot be predicted. In this background, the efforts of Tata Memorial Center and non-governmental organizations to help children with cancer as well as their parents are commendable, the Governor said.
Gifts were distributed to the children on this occasion by the Governor. Governor Bais announced a grant of Rs 5 lakh to Impact Foundation of Tata Memorial Center and Krish Sports Foundation.
Shalini Jatia, CEO of Impact Foundation, Naveen Shetty, founder of Krish Sports Foundation, Vandana Shetty, pediatric oncologist Dr. Venkat Ram Mohan and Lahar Bachhavat etc were present on the occasion.
