Son killed father for not giving money for mobile recharge

In Chhattisgarh’s Jashpur district, a son attacked his father with an axe for not giving him money for mobile recharge. He also beat up his step mother who came to intervene. The father died due to the fatal axe attack.

On receiving the report of the incident, Pathalgaon police registered a case and took the accused Ranjit Tirkey into custody.

According to the information received, Sainath Tirkey (52) lived with his son Ranjit Tirkey (30) and second wife Sumati Tirkey in Churiphari village of Pathalgaon police station area.

A few days ago, the accused Ranjit had earned some money by working as a labourer and had given the money earned from the labour to his father.

And yesterday, the son demanded the money deposited by his father for mobile recharge. The father said that he did not have the money right now and said that he would give the money as soon as the arrangement is made.

Being angry, he started arguing with his father. During the dispute, the son attacked his father with an axe, which resulted in his death. Not only this, he also beat up his stepmother badly and injured her when she came to intervene.
