Signs of defeat of BJP in all four seats of Kalyan Dombivli, in assembly elections

The Grand Alliance is expected to form a government in Maharashtra in the 2024 assembly elections, and the Bharatiya Janata Party will form a government in Maharashtra on its own in 2029. Although Union Home Minister Amit Shah has been making this claim in election meetings in Maharashtra.

But BJP’s position is opposite. And if we look at the situation in Kalyan Dombivli, out of the four assembly seats here, the BJP does not seem to be in a position to win a single seat.

First let’s talk about Dombivli Assembly seat. Which is considered as the stronghold of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and Bharatiya Janata Party. But this time the situation is opposite.

There is a lot of resentment among the local voters as well as the Sangh Parivar against the BJP candidate and State Public Works Minister Ravindra Chavan. And if a strong candidate is fielded by the opposition, there is a full possibility that this seat will go from BJP.

The preparation of Shiv Sena’s Shinde faction Dipesh Mhatre to contest the elections as an independent can be understood from the banners and posters put up here since a year ago.

Only a few days are left for the election. And here Ravindra Chavan and Deepesh Mhatre’s internal check-and-match game can be understood from various newspapers including social media.

This is followed by Kalyan Rural Assembly Constituency which is adjacent to Dombivli Assembly Constituency. Whom BJP gave up its claim in 2014 Assembly election by not fielding a candidate. And Shiv Sena candidates have been contesting from here for the last two sessions.

And in the last assembly election, Shiv Sena’s candidate Ramesh Mhatre lost to Maharashtra Navnirman Sena’s winning candidate Raju Patil by a narrow margin.

Barring a few seats, whatever seats the Shiv Sena won or contested in the last election are certain to go to the Shinde faction of the Shiv Sena. In such a situation, the seat of Kalyan Grameen is certain to go to the Shiv Sena Shinde group in the Mahayutia.

Mahesh Patil is the strongest candidate of Shinde faction of Shiv Sena from here. However, the names of Rajesh More, Arjun Patil (Katai), Ramakant Madhvi (Diwa) and Kailas Shinde (Pisvali) from Shiv Sena’s Shinde group are also coming out as interested, but this time again BJP has staked its claim on it. It is reported that preparation is going on from Nandu Parab.

Now it is turn for Kalyan East Assembly seat. BJP’s Ganpat Gaikwad has been elected as an MLA from here for the last three sessions. But this time, Ganpat Gaikwad is in jail after the firing incident on Shiv Sena Kalyan City Chief Mahesh Gaikwad.

And from here, Vishal Pavshe, Neeraj Shinde along with Mahesh Gaikwad of Shiv Sena’s Shinde group are all set to contest the elections. The news of public opinion test for these aspiring candidates of Shinde group is also being carried vigorously on many news channels.

However, Sulabha Ganpat Gaikwad, wife of MLA Ganpat Gaikwad, has fully prepared to contest the elections from BJP. In such a situation, it will be important to see what decision is taken regarding this seat in the Grand Alliance.

Because whichever party gets this seat in the Grand Alliance, rebellion is considered almost certain. If this seat goes to the BJP’s quota in the Grand Alliance, it is almost certain that Shiv Sena’s Shinde group’s former Kalyan city chief Mahesh Gaikwad will contest as an independent.

Also, if for some reason this seat goes to the Shinde group of Shiv Sena, there are indications that Sulabha Ganpat Gaikwad, wife of MLA Ganpat Gaikwad, will contest as an independent candidate. Interestingly, Ganpat Gaikwad won the assembly elections from here as an independent two times.

In 2014, Narendra Pawar of Bharatiya Janata Party won from Kalyan West Assembly Constituency. But in 2019, BJP gave this seat to Shiv Sena due to internal conflict in BJP. And from there Vishwanath Bhoir of Shinde faction of Shiv Sena has won the last election.

This time Narendra Pawar is once again presenting his strong claim on behalf of BJP. Former corporator Varun Patil from BJP is also preparing to contest the assembly elections. Even though Shiv Sena got this seat in the grand alliance in the last election, BJP’s Narendra Pawar contested as an independent.

In the four seats of Kalyan Dombivli, if the Mahayutti leaders do not try to rein in the local leaders of their respective parties, the Bharatiya Janata Party is likely to suffer the most from here. And there are signs of defeat of Bharatiya Janata Party in all the four seats here.
