Dipesh Mhatre will hold “Mashal” in Dombivli, Big blow to Shiv Sena Shinde faction
Half a dozen councilors will return home
Dombivli: Shiv Sena Shinde faction’s Yuva Sena state secretary and former Dombivli corporator Dipesh Pundalik Mhatre will join Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray faction and hold “Mashal”.
At least half a dozen former councilors will also return home with him. This homecoming will take place today on Sunday at Matoshree. But this big and bold decision of Dipesh Mhatre is likely to give a big blow to Shiv Sena Shinde faction.
There are many pictures of big developments and upheavals in the state politics in the upcoming assembly elections, the entire politics in Western Maharashtra seems to be revolving around NCP’s Sharad Pawar and many MLAs and officials who went with Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar have started coming to Sharad Pawar. Similar pictures are also being seen in Thane and Konkan.
Thane district is important in the politics of the state, it has been called the district of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Before the Lok Sabha elections, there was such a picture that the Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray faction was not getting any strong candidate in the Kalyan Lok Sabha constituency of this district.
But after the results of the Lok Sabha elections, the atmosphere of not only the state but also Thane district has started changing. It has become difficult for many interested candidates in the Mahayuti to get candidature.
Therefore, many interested candidates from the Shiv Sena Shinde faction and BJP are preparing to defect to improve their political future.
Shiv Sena youth leader Dipesh Mhatre is the son of former mayor Pundalik Mhatre. He has also been the former chairman of the Standing Committee. Earlier in 2014, he contested the Dombivali assembly elections from Shiv Sena.
He was considered very close and confidant of Yuva Sena chief Aditya Thackeray and secretary Varun Sardesai.
Even after the split of Shiv Sena, he was with the Thackeray faction for some time. But eventually he joined the Shinde faction.
He was known as a very close associate of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde. Even though he joined the Shinde group, he never made any comment about the Thackeray family.
Dipesh Mhatre was preparing for the assembly elections for the last few years. But the Dombivali assembly seat is with the BJP.
Even after the seat sharing of Mahayuti, the Shinde faction would not get this seat from BJP, so Dipesh Mhatre started preparing to join the Thackeray faction two months ago by giving the last victory to the Shiv Sena Shinde faction in loksabha.
Dipesh Mhatre succeeded in bringing together on one platform in Dombivali West, four former corporators who were bitter rivals of each other during the public Dahi Handi festival organized two months ago.
After this, Dipesh Mhatre contacted the leaders of the Uddhav Thackeray faction and expressed his desire. His entry into the party has been given the green signal and he will return home from Matoshree on Sunday.
It is said that half a dozen councillors are also with him, but their names are not known. However, the Thackeray faction’s action against this big leader of Yuva Sena in the Chief Minister’s district and his son’s parliamentary constituency is being considered a big setback for the Chief Minister.
