There is a risk of landslides in the slum areas on the hill slopes of Vikhroli and Bhandup areas during the monsoons and floods due to the torrential rains coming from the mountains. However, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has appealed that the slum dwellers in this area should migrate to a safer place before the monsoons.
Surya Nagar in Vikhroli West, Indira Nagar in Powai, Gautam Nagar, Paspoli, Jaibhim Nagar and Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar 1 and 2 in Bhandup West, Nardas Nagar, Gadevi Hill, Gaon Devi Marg, Tembhipada, Rawate Compound, Khindipada, Ram Nagar, Hanuman Nagar, Hanuman Hill, Settlements like Ashok hill, Ambyachi Bharni, Duckline Road, Navjivan Society, Tanaji Wadi, Dargah Road, Khadan Vishwashanti Society etc. are located on the hill slopes.
As a precautionary measure, the citizens should migrate to a safe place on their own, and the municipality will not be responsible in case of any natural disaster, accident, loss of life or financial loss to the resident who lives there without going to a safe place.
