Renovation of Thane Municipal Resident Doctor’s Hostel

The municipal administration has decided to renovate the hostel of the resident doctors studying in Rajiv Gandhi Medical College of Thane Municipal Corporation and undergoing training at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital. Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar has ordered to complete the work of renovation of the hostel in the next four months.
He has also given instructions to the Executive Engineers to prepare a day-by-day plan for the renovation work of the hostel, the tender process, the progress of the actual work and to work accordingly.
At present 78 resident doctors are staying in the hostel main building above the canteen and 28 resident doctors are staying in hostel number 08 in the hospital main building. In this meeting, Commissioner Bangar said that apart from inspecting the construction of the building, there is a need to make radical changes in the interior design, adequate arrangement of bathrooms and toilets, and the interior design of the rooms. While renovating the building, it should accommodate a total of 100 resident doctors. Also, necessary changes should be made for adequate sunlight, ventilation. The design of the gymnasium should be good. He also suggested that the entrance should be large and without any obstacles.
Rajiv Gandhi Medical College should provide the highest standard of facilities to the resident doctors studying at the Rajiv Gandhi Medical College. Also, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has given instructions that a time-bound program should be planned and implemented immediately.
