Objecting to the tender for the proposed underground route from Thane to Borivali, L. And T.’s petition was dismissed by the High Court on Thursday.
Now after completing the tender process, the work contract will be given to Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited Company.
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has decided to construct the 11.8 km long Thane-Borivali underground route to cover the distance between Thane and Borivali in just 20 minutes. It was decided to work on this route in three phases.
Two companies L&T and Megha Engineering submitted tenders for this work. After scrutiny, L&T’s tender was disqualified for some reasons. However, L&T objected to this and approached the court directly. The court on Thursday rejected the petition of L&T. So now the way is finally clear to finalize the tender process and start the further work.
