A 60-ft wall collapse incident in Pune’s Kondhwa leave 17 into death valley

Forcing a total of fifteen residents to breath last, a 60-ft-wall wall collapsed in Pune’s Kondhva area on Saturday near talab masjid collapsed on shanties following incessant rains in the city.

The NDRF Rescue operations being underway, the city police and the district collector have been ordered to conduct an in-depth enquiry.

Expressing digrace about the loss of 15 people, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis said, “Extremely saddened to know about loss of lives in the Kondhwa, Pune wall collapse incident. My deepest condolences to the families and prying for speedy recovery of the injured. Directed Pune Collector to conduct an in-depth enquiry”

The shanties were built for the labourers working at a construction site nearby where the compound wall collapsed around 1.45 am on Friday night. The deceased included nine men, a woman and four children citing the insights from the fire department officials. However, the deceased are yet to be identified.
