Self Employment in MSME Sector
The Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises implements the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme to encourage unemployed youth including women for self employment in the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector. Under this Scheme, Margin Money Subsidy is provided for setting up of new Micro enterprises and bank loan amount under the scheme has been raised to 90% of the project cost in case of general category and 95% in case of special category of beneficiaries. Individuals above 18 years of age are eligible under the Scheme.

The Ministry of MSME imparts training through Khadi & Village Industries Commission, its 15 tool rooms and 30 MSME-Development Institutes. These trainings include Management Development Programmes (MDP), Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programmes (ESDP) and Diploma Courses.
