Labourer fell on Electric wire at Vasai railway station

While working at Vasai railway station, a 28-year-old laborer in Palghar district of Maharashtra, an electric wire fell on him and he came in contact with the high tension wire, police said.

The accident occurred on Tuesday when the victim, identified as Mathura Gupta, was standing on a ladder and welding at a foot over-bridge at the station. An official at Vasai Railway Police Station said that the ladder suddenly slipped causing Gupta to fall on an overhead live wire and his electrical wire broke.

Station officials immediately cut off the power supply at the site. He said the body was brought down and sent for postmortem.
