Maharashtra House eulogises Bharat Ratna Pranab Mukherjee, Nanaji Deshmukh and Bhupen Hazarika
The Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Wednesday passed a unanimous resolution eulogizing Bharat Ratna Pranab Mukherjee, Nanaji Deshmukh and Assamese Singer Bhupen Hazarika for being felicitated with the highest civilian award of the country.
The members thumping the desks saluted to their mission and work. The resolution was moved by the Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis and supporting it Speaker Haribhau Bagde, PWD and Health Minister Eknath Shinde, Members Ganpatrao Deshmukh, Prithviraj Chavhan, Ajit Pawar, and Basavraj Patil expressed their views eulogizing the work of all three great people of India.

Speaker Bagde said that former President Pranab Maukherjee was an ace administrator. As a President he always upheld the dignity of the nation. He was the witness to many important events in the last 50 years that influenced the polity of the country. Bestowing Bharat Ratna on him was the most suitable way to felicitate such a great son of India, he said.
Bagde further said that late Nanaji Deshmukh was a public leader. One of the founders of the Bharatiya Jan Sangh Nanaji was known as ideal politician. He always accorded priority to the national interests and societies welfare. He recalled some of the memories of Nanaji’s Aurangabad visits.

The Speaker said that Dr Bhupen Hazarika was known as cultural face of the northeast India. His mission was inspiring for many, he added.
