The young man’s body was removed from the well after 17 hours

Body of the youths trapped inside a well in the southern suburbs was retrieved on Saturday Disaster management said. An official from the fire department confirmed this, saying that the body of the youth was extracted with the help of a local who dug wells for a living.

The youth fell into a well in the Basadroni area of ​​the city on Friday evening. Officials said that his body was trapped in a narrow well of 37 feet by about 5-7 feet.

Rescue operations by the disaster management team did not yield results as they could not locate the body until 10 pm on Friday night. The search was then halted. Rescue workers had taken water out of the well.

But as the body could not be found, on Saturday, the well excavator’s help was sought and the body was recovered, he said.
