Kalyan East Assembly: War between revolver and bullet

Kalyan- The election battle in Kalyan East Assembly constituency is now showing its colours. A direct contest is seen between Sulabha Gaikwad, wife of Ganpat Gaikwad, who won the election twice as an independent and once on behalf of BJP, and Mahesh Gaikwad, who was injured by Ganpat’s revolver bullet.

Although Dhananjay Bodare of Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) is also making his presence felt in this contest, but all eyes are on the direct contest between Ganpat’s wife and Mahesh Gaikwad.

Mahesh Gaikwad is in the field to seek justice from the common people for the murderous attack on him and Ganpat’s wife is trying to prove her husband innocent and naive.

Shiv Sena’s Dhananjay Bodare is standing firm between the two like last time. Shinde Sena’s city chief Mahesh Gaikwad has filed nomination as an independent, rebelling after not getting the ticket. Shinde faction tried to persuade Mahesh Gaikwad but Mahesh Gaikwad did not withdraw his nomination.

Finally, Kalyan district chief of Shinde’s Shiv Sena Gopal Landge expelled Mahesh Gaikwad and nine other people from Shiv Sena. Due to which the political battle in Kalyan East assembly constituency has now become a battle for existence.

Let us tell you that in the month of February, BJP’s current MLA Ganpat Gaikwad had fired several rounds at Mahesh Gaikwad and others in the room of Senior Police Inspector Anil Jagtap in Hill Line Police Station of Ulhasnagar over a plot of land.

This was the first incident of an MLA firing in Maharashtra. This also brought a lot of embarrassment to the BJP. But instead of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s close aide Ganpat Gaikwad, BJP made his wife Sulabha Gaikwad its candidate.

To retain his constituency, Ganpat Gaikwad is staying in jail and monitoring all activities. Whereas Mahesh Gaikwad, who was injured by Ganpat’s bullet, is trying to prove to the public that the public will give him justice.

If we talk about the last assembly results, Ganpat Gaikwad had joined the BJP after shedding the garb of an independent MLA and had secured 60,332 votes. Whereas Dhananjay Bodare of Akhandit Shiv Sena was in second place and had got 48,075 votes.

If we talk about the last two assembly elections, when Ganpat Gaikwad contested the first election as an independent candidate in 2009, he got 60,592 votes. In 2014, this number of votes reduced to just 36,357. Then after joining BJP, Ganpat Gaikwad got more than 60,000 votes.

Now the situation is such that Mahesh Gaikwad is fighting this election battle considering it as a battle between the attacker and the injured. In which he seems to be getting good public support. In the battle of Gaikwad against Gaikwad, Dhananjay Bodare of Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena is working to take advantage

because last time he had registered his presence by coming second. Overall, the current political equations are changing every moment. Understanding which is difficult at the moment.
