Former Mumbai Mayor Vishwanath Mahadeshwar passed away due to a massive heart attack. He was 63 years old. He was known as a highly educated and studious corporator in the municipal corporation.
On Monday night, he suddenly felt unwell. He was immediately admitted to VN Desai Hospital. His relatives informed that he died due to acute heart attack.
In 2002, he was elected to the Mumbai Municipal Corporation for the first time. In 2003, he was elected as the Chairman of the Education Committee. After that he was again elected as a corporator in 2007 and 2012. On 8 March 2017, he took charge as the Mayor of Mumbai.
Mahadeshwar graduated from Ramnarayan Ruia College. After that, he obtained his Master’s Degree in Business from BPCA College, Wadala. He was the former Principal of Raje Sambhaji Vidyalaya in Santacruz.
