Extension of the third and fourth tracks on the Badlapur-Karjat railway line

In the ’89th’ meeting of the ‘Network Planning Group’ under the ambitious project of the Central Government ‘PM Gatishakti’, it was decided to expand and improve the efficiency of the third and fourth tracks on the Badlapur-Karjat railway line in the state.

This 32.460 km long brownfield project is expected to address the delays caused by the increasing passenger and freight traffic on the Mumbai-Pune-Solapur-Wadi-Chennai route and increase the connectivity of important places for passengers and freight like Badlapur, Wangani, Shelu, Neral, Bhivpuri and Karjat.

This infrastructure project is in line with the objectives of ‘PMGS NMP’, which will improve connectivity between various places, increase efficiency and give a big boost to local economic development.
