On this occasion, the Chief Minister gave detailed information about the future development roadmap of Maharashtra and the technology and infrastructure projects of the state government.

The Maharashtra government’s policies have made the state a leader in the startup and technology sectors of the country. When we dream of a trillion-dollar economy, technology is the main pillar of development. Chief Minister Fadnavis said that the government is making special efforts to accelerate startups in the Fintech and AI sectors

In an interview, Chief Minister Fadnavis said that due to War Room, the decision-making process of projects has been speeded up. Earlier, to start a project in Mumbai, permission from 18 different government agencies had to be sought, which led to delays in projects. Through the War Room, all relevant officials were brought together in one place and started making decisions quickly. Mr. Fadnavis said that projects like Metro, Coastal Road, Atal Setu, etc. were given momentum due to this reason.

Chief Minister Mr. Fadnavis said that in the next five years, the Maharashtra government is going to focus on three major infrastructure projects. In this, the project to expand the port is a major change in the economy of Mumbai. This port is the current JNPT. Three times larger than the 20-meter deep harbor, the world’s largest ships can dock here.

This port project will give India an important position in global maritime trade. Simultaneously, the focus will be on building Navi Mumbai International Airport and New Smart City. A new business and technology hub will be developed around the airport once it is completed.

These new cities will be three times bigger than Mumbai and will provide great opportunities for industries, he added. Also due to interlinking project, Vainganga-Nalganga and Godavari water projects are being undertaken to provide permanent water supply to the drought affected areas of Vidarbha and Marathwada. Chief Minister Mr. Fadnavis asserted that these projects will benefit thousands of farmers and increase agricultural production.

Answering regarding the cyber security measures in the state, Mr. Fadnavis said that today the crime around the world is shifting to the cyber world. In the future 70% of crimes will be cyber crimes. Hence India’s most advanced cyber security center has been set up in Navi Mumbai. He explained that now any financial fraud will be dealt with immediately as all banks, social media platforms are connected to this system.

Chief Minister Mr. Fadnavis said that between 2000 and 2014, many IT companies shifted to Bangalore and Hyderabad due to the decrease in investment in the technology sector in Maharashtra. However, due to projects like Atal Setu, Navi Mumbai is now becoming a new technology hub, he said.

Commenting on the future development plan of Mumbai, Mr. Fadnavis said that due to the lack of commercial space in today’s Mumbai, new cities will be built in Navi Mumbai, Navi Thane and Pradhan. This will provide more space for industries and reduce the pressure in Mumbai, he added.
