Kilambi Pankaja Valli (Pankjadidi) has been selected for the ‘Swatantryaveer Savarkar’ award given by the Tilaknagar Shikshan Prasarak Mandal. The award consists of a memento, certificate and cash of Rs 51 thousand.
An award distribution ceremony has been organized in the courtyard of Tilaknagar Vidya Mandir on March 25 at 6 pm.
Pankajadidi has been working for national integration through women empowerment through ‘Aditi Seva Pratishthan’ in the state of Jammu and Kashmir for nearly three decades. She is known as the ‘courageous mother of children orphaned by terrorist activities’.
Till date Avadhoot Shastri, Colonel Shyam Chavan, Dilip Karambelkar, Seshrao More, Satchidanand Shevde, Sharad Ponkshe, Padma Shri awardee Rameshji Patange have been honored with this award.
