The state government is preparing to implement the ‘MESMA’ Act to break the planned strike of the employees

Mumbai, Dt. 11
The government has prepared to implement the Protection of Essential Services (MESMA) Act to break the indefinite strike called by the government and semi-government employees in the state from March 14 to demand implementation of the old pension scheme.
Abolish the New Pension Scheme (NPS) and apply the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) to all with retrospective effect. The state government-semi-government, teaching and non-teaching employees have given an indefinite strike notice to the government from March 14 for various demands such as immediate filling of all vacant posts.
Meanwhile, as the government currently has no law to prevent strikes, the MESMA Bill was hurriedly tabled in the legislature on Friday.
