The daily number of passengers traveling on Metro 2A, Metro 7 routes is more than two lakhs

The daily ridership of Dahisar to Andheri West Metro 2A and Dahisar to Gundvali Metro 7 has crossed two lakhs. Both these routes are operated by the Greater Mumbai Metro Movement Corporation (MMMOCL).

The first phase of ‘Metro 2A’ and ‘Metro 7’ lines of the 337 km metro project of Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) was commissioned in April 2022 and the second phase was commissioned on 19 January 2023.

In the first phase, an average of 30 thousand 500 passengers were traveling on these routes per day. But after the second phase was put into service, both these routes started running at full capacity. In January 2023, the number of daily passengers directly reached 1 lakh 60 thousand. Between April 2022 and June 2023, the total number of passengers reached three crores.

MMCOCA has launched ‘Mumbai 1 National Common Mobility Card’ service under the integrated ticketing system to make metro travel easier for passengers. With this card there is no need to queue for tickets. This card can be used for Best Bus travel. So far 1 lakh 14 thousand 171 passengers have availed the benefit of ‘Mumbai 1 Card’.
