The cost of Goods Coastal Line has increased by Rs 226 crore and the cost of Sea Coastal Line, an ambitious project of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, has increased by Rs 226 crore due to the increase in service tax. So far 65 percent has been paid to the contractor.
The Mumbai Coastal Road project work is divided into three parts with separate contractors for each part. The amount of all these three contractors has increased. This project was to be completed in 2022.
However, due to stalling of the project, the project will be completed by the end of this year and the contractors have been fined 31 crores.
