Taking under the wings..! State government announces financial and moral aid to sufferers of Mumbai Bridge accident

Ordering a high level enquiry into Mumbai Bridge Collapse incident yesterday, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis have announced ₹5 lakh for the next of the kins of deceased and ₹50,000 to the injured. Visiting the casualties this morning he also informed of their medical expenses to borne by the state government.

“Pained to hear about the FOB incident near TOI building in Mumbai. Spoke to BMC Commissioner and the MumbaiPolice officials and instructed to ensure speedy relief efforts in coordination with the Rail Minister India officials”, he said in the series of tweet further.

Meanwhile PM Narendra Modi expressing condolences to the five dead in the incident said, “Deeply anguished by the loss of lives due to the foot over bridge accident in Mumbai. My thoughts are with the bereaved families. Wishing that the injured recover at the earliest. The Maharashtra Government is providing all possible assistance to those affected”.

“Detailed enquiry will follow but I have asked the BMC Commissioner for preliminary enquiry and fix the responsibility by today evening itself”, added CM Fadnavis visiting the causalties at St George & GT Hospital. He also met the doctors insisting them for easy recovery of the patients and visited the site with Minister Girish Mahajan and other officials.
