Mobile Robber Arrested For Stealing Phone Of Maharashtra Ex Chief Minister Sushil kumar Shinde.
The accessed Mandar Pramod Gurav was travelling in the same compartment with Mr Shinde.
He went to the toilet before reaching Dadar station and left his phone on the seat. The accused tried to steal the mobile phone but was caught red handed by his daughter. The accused has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days.
A man arrested for allegedly stealing the mobile phone of former Maharashtra Prime Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on October 6 has been remanded in custody, officials said on Monday.
The accused was identified as Mandar Pramod Gurav and arrested by the State Railway Police (GRP) and has now been held in judicial custody for 14 days.
Officials also said the accused resided in Solapur, the constituency of Sushil Kumar Shinde. Gaurav allegedly stole the mobile phone of veteran congress leader CM Sushil Kumar Shinde while he was traveling to Mumbai by train.
“The accused traveled with the minister in the same compartment. Former Maharashtra CM Shinde went to the toilet before reaching Dadar railway station and left his phone on the seat. The defendant took the opportunity and tried to steal the former CM’s mobile phone from Maharashtra,” GRP Dadar said. The defendant was caught in the act by Kumar’s daughter, officials said.
According to the railway police, the accused was brought before the court on October 6. The court had taken the accused into police custody for one day.
