Maharashtra Day turns colourless..! 15 policemen and a civilian breath last at Gadchiroli Naxal Attack
Nothing can be so worse than having a tear of sadness in one eye and a glee of honour in another, abide the state formation day. A powerful explosion at the Gadchiroli district in Maharashtra hit the state and the nation shock resulting in 15 policemen and a civilian breath last.
An improvised explosive device (IED) blast was set off on a private vehicle by the naxalites when a team of the C-60 Quick Response Team of the Gadchiroli police was on way to inspect a fleet of vehicles torched by Maoists earlier in the day.

Condemning the cowardly attack in the state on its formation day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi saluted the brave personnel who lost their lives. “Their sacrifices will never be forgotten. My thoughts & solidarity are with the bereaved families. The perpetrators of such violence will not be spared:, he said using social media.
State CM Devendra Fadnavis, after condemning the attack informed that he was continuously in touch with the DGP and Gadchiroli SP. Briefing about the overall situation here, he headed seeking Centre’s assistance.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Rajnath Singh has expressed his grief at the loss of brave Police personnel. “We are providing all assistance needed by the state government. MHA is in constant touch with the state administration”, he said in the series of tweets.
Following the tragic incident witnessed in the state, the Governor of Maharashtra CH Vidyasagar Rao has cancelled the Reception and Cultural Programme organised at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai.
“The reception is cancelled as a mark of respect to the police personnel who lost their lives in the Naxal attack in Gadchiroli district”, the statement in relation read.
