In view of the extreme heat, state board schools have been declared holiday from today
School Education Minister Deepak Kesarkar said that the schools which want to conduct additional activities during the vacation period should take them in the morning or evening session. However, students of other classes should not be invited for this purpose, except the students of class 9th and 10th. Allow other students to enjoy their vacations without burdening them with studies.
Kesarkar also explained that Marathi subject has been made compulsory in all medium schools in the state. Only this year’s class (Batch) of VIII in Central Board schools has been given concession of marks. Marathi subject has not been excluded, Marathi language has been made compulsory from class VI onwards. However, as it is the time of corona, this year students studying in class VIII are learning Marathi language subject for the first time. Therefore, it has been decided to convert the examination of Marathi subject into a category for the students of Class VIII of 2022-23 till Class X in the year 2024-25 as a one-time matter, Kesarkar also informed.
