ICG at Gujarat detains Indonesian vessel on its way to Kuwait; Consignment inspections and probes underway
The Indian Coast Guard waged in Gujarat province has detained an Indonesian vessel with Iranian crew off the coast of Dwarka. With some suspected substance being observed on the vessel during the investigation, it claims to be on its way to Kuwait.

While the investigation is underway, the officials involved have assured that the crew on the said vessel being Iranian, they are on some consignment which is seemingly to be laid in Kuwait. “We are carrying out systematic or formal inquiry to discover and examine the facts of the consignment”, the official added.

Earlier in the month of March this year, the Indian Coast Guard had seized 100kg of heroin in a joint mid-sea operation off Porbandar coast. The ATS officials had received information about a consignment of narcotics drugs was going to be smuggled in Gujarat through the sea.
It was also revealed then that consignment was to be smuggled in a dhow of Iran, which was to be loaded in Pakistan. Awaiting the further details, it is assumed that the Indian Coast Guard shall dig out the elements and draw required operations.
