Health Minister Tanaji Sawant will conduct a special campaign across the state for a cancer-free Maharashtra

A special campaign will be implemented across the state for a cancer-free Maharashtra. Under this, health minister Tanaji Sawant informed in the assembly that cervical cancer prevention vaccine will be given to girls aged 9 to 14 and cancer screening will be facilitated in all medical colleges.
Cancer patients are increasing day by day in the state including Mumbai. The cost of treatment required for this is unfathomable. Against this backdrop, Captain R. Tamil Selvan, Ashish Shelar, Yamini Jadhav, Yogesh Sagar, Varshan Gaikwad etc raised the question through Lakshvedhi. Sawant gave this information while replying to it.
A four-pronged program has been planned in the state to check cancer patients and for this many teams are working with ‘Asha’ activists. Women’s health check-up was conducted through the ‘Mata Surakshit ter ghar surakshit’ campaign which was implemented a few days ago. Sawant informed that 62 thousand 729 women were diagnosed with cancer.
