Dombivlikar’s ‘Ghantanad’, ‘Thalinad’ movement to draw attention to civic issues
To draw attention to the poor condition of roads, water problems, traffic jams, unruly rickshaw pullers and many other civic problems, ordinary people of Dombivli held chanting and chanting at Appa Datar Chowk in Dombivli East on Thursday night. On this occasion, there was a protest against the destruction of civic facilities, the stupid municipal administration and the sleepless representatives of all parties.
For the past few days, discussions on this issue were going on in the social media, messages were circulating. Workers and office bearers of various social organizations also participated in the agitation. Some youths protested the Kadomampa by wearing t-shirts with the derisive lines ‘Dombivli potholes are the biggest in the world’. Slogans such as ‘one two, three four, damn KDMC’ were also given on this occasion.
Some citizens of Dombivli’s MIDC division as well as Daksh Nagar Mancha activists have now directly complained to Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the lack of civic amenities and remoteness in Dombivli. Through written/printed letters, e-mails, Modi’s attention has also been drawn. It has been requested that as many citizens should write or e-mail to Prime Minister Modi.
Meanwhile, the next stages of Ghanta Naad/Thali Naad and Dive Bandh movement will be announced from time to time through social media.
