Dombivali Assembly: Dissatisfied Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray group’s Kalyan district chief Sadanand Tharwal resigns

Dombivali: Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray group released the list of its party candidates on Wednesday evening. In the said list, Dipesh Mhatre, who joined the party a few days ago, was declared the candidate from Dombivali assembly constituency.

Opposing this decision, Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray group’s dissatisfied Kalyan district chief Sadanand Tharwal has written to Uddhav Thackeray and resigned from his post and party membership.

In Dombivali assembly constituency, the old staunch Shiv Sainik voters who sympathize with the Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray faction are in majority. But Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction did not have any leader at the Dombivali level who could lead them competently.

Sadanand Tharwal was the district chief of Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction, but he lives in Gograswadi area of Kalyan Rural Assembly constituency.

At the local level, the leaders of Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray group were proving to be weak in front of the leaders of Shiv Sena Shinde group and Bharatiya Janata Party organization.

Despite being the district chief of Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray group, Sadanand Tharwal was accused by Matoshree a few months ago that the work of the organization was not being done as expected. Irritated by this, he had resigned from his post at that time too.

Now for the last few months, there was talk of his being interested in contesting the election from Dombivali assembly. And Tharwal had also told these things to the Shiv Sena top leadership.

Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray group had conducted a survey of this constituency a month ago. In that survey, it was found that the atmosphere in the constituency was favorable for Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray group.

But in the same survey, the surveyors had also concluded that a positive result is possible from here only if a capable candidate is given from here.

Since Dombivali is a traditional assembly seat of BJP, this constituency will not be given to Shiv Sena’s Shinde group in the seat sharing of Mahayuti under any circumstances. That is why Shiv Sena’s Shinde group leader Dipesh Mhatre started trying to get a ticket from Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray group.

Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray group was looking for a capable candidate from Dombivali assembly constituency and Dipesh Mhatre wanted a ticket from Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray faction. And the matter reached the final.

But before taking this decision, Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray had called Sadanand Tharwal to Matoshree, and Thackeray had explained to Tharwal that this time’s assembly election is important. And every seat has to be fought not just to fight but to win, he had advised Tharwal to be patient throughout this election.

After convincing Sadanand Tharwal at Matoshree, Dipesh Mhatre was included in the party. And after Dipesh Mhatre’s candidature was announced, there is an atmosphere of surprise among the district level leaders of Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray group on Tharwal’s resignation.

According to many leaders of Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray Sena, he was given the post of district chief because he was trusted at Matoshree. Along with this, before taking Dipesh Mhatre into the party, Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray faction chief Uddhav Thackeray had explained to him.

In such a situation, his resignation after the announcement of the candidate is beyond the understanding of common Shiv Sainiks. While in the party, he was not able to do the work of the organization. The party’s top leadership also used to instruct him several times to take necessary actions to strengthen the party.

Frustrated by this, he has resigned from his post once. According to many leaders of Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray group, Sadanand Tharwal’s resignation will not have any negative impact on the party organization.
