Complete the repair works of highways, connecting roads, bridges in Thane area before monsoon – Chief Minister Shinde

While removing the traffic congestion in Thane city and its surroundings, the repair works of highways, connecting roads and bridges should be completed before monsoon. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde ordered here yesterday that District Collector Thane should act as a nodal officer for coordinating these works.
Chief Minister Shinde reviewed the traffic congestion and various development works in Thane city and its surroundings in a meeting held at Vidhan Bhavan. Union Minister of State for Social Justice Ramdas Athavale, Chief Secretary Manukumar Srivastava, Additional Chief Secretary of Public Works Department Manoj Kumar Saunik, Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department Anand Limaye, Principal Secretary of Urban Development Department Sonia Sethi, Principal Secretary of Forest Department Venugopal Reddy, Thane Police Commissioner Jai Jeet Singh, Commissioners of Thane, Navi Mumbai, Kalyan Dombivli, Meera Bhayander, Panvel, Bhiwandi, Ulhasnagar Municipalities, Thane, Raigad Collector, Police officers were present on this occasion.
A detailed review was made regarding the repair of Mumbra Bypass, Ghodbunder road to Gaymukh, Kharegaon, Saket Bridge in and around Thane city and works on Nashik, Ahmedabad highway.
Parking lots should be provided for heavy vehicles coming and going from JNPT. The chief minister also gave suggestions that the number of traffic wardens should be increased, crane facilities should be increased on the highway so that there is no traffic jam in case of heavy vehicles, and the systems related to this work should appoint a coordination officer of their department.
