Minister Uday Samant announced in the Legislative Assembly on Friday that the misuse of tanker water in Mumbai will be investigated through the Municipal Additional Commissioner.
BJP MLA Ashish Shelar made an interesting suggestion about water in Mumbai in the presence. Samant was speaking while answering it.
A 24×7 water project was implemented on a pilot basis in Mulund and Bandra West in Mumbai. Both these projects failed. For this, Rs. 150 crores were given to the consultants and Rs. 250 crores to the contractor. Shelar said that despite spending nearly 500 crore rupees, the municipality could not make this project successful.
There are 19 thousand wells in Mumbai and there are 12 thousand 500 borewells. 80 crore theft from a borewell by a tanker in an inspection conducted by the Central Ground Water Department. 10 thousand crore water scam in Mumbai is done through tankers.
