Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray group leader Aditya Thackeray met Governor Ramesh Bais at Raj Bhavan this afternoon while everyone was waiting for the Supreme Court’s decision on MLA disqualification.
Although the details of the discussion are still under wraps, the two discussed for more than half an hour. A few hours before the outcome of the power struggle, Thackeray went to Rajbhavana and met the Governor, various arguments are being contested in the political circle.
Last week, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also visited Raj Bhavan and had a goodwill meeting with Governor Bais. Honoring the Governor’s invitation, Shinde went to the Raj Bhavan for dinner.
Petitions were filed by the Uddhav Thackeray group on all issues such as disqualification of MLAs, validity or invalidity of Governor’s order of majority test, scope of powers of Assembly Speaker. Hearings were going on in the Supreme Court for the past few months.
A five-judge constitution bench heard the arguments of both sides. As one of the judges of the Constitution Bench is retiring on May 15, it is expected that the verdict will be delivered in the next two days.
