Underground garbage bins will be installed at 15 places in Mumbai; Decision of Municipal Solid Waste Department

The solid waste department of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has decided to install underground waste bins at fifteen more places in Mumbai. Garbage bins kept in the open cause bad smell of garbage. An experiment of underground garbage bins will be implemented to prevent this stench from spreading.
In 2018, the Municipal Corporation had installed waste bins on an experimental basis at four locations namely Chita Gate Fort, Girgaon, Aksa and Gorai Beach. Due to the success of this experiment, fifteen more such underground waste bins will be installed in Brihanmumbai. It is expected to spend about two crore rupees for this.
These underground waste bins will be installed in hospitals, nursing homes and markets and the tender process has been started. It was said that these underground waste bins will be installed after September.
