Tensions in MahaYuti? Eknath Shinde Meets Amit Shah, Expresses Discontent Over Finance Department
Political temperatures in Maharashtra rose once again as Chief Minister Eknath Shinde met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in a late-night meeting in Pune to express serious concerns over the functioning of the state’s Finance Department. Sources reveal that Shinde raised issues regarding delays in clearing files related to key development projects under his ministry.
According to insiders, Shinde conveyed that several proposals and developmental schemes from his departments were being held up in the Finance Department, adversely affecting governance and project implementation. The department is currently headed by Deputy CM Ajit Pawar.
During the meeting, which reportedly took place around 11 PM following Shah’s visit to Raigad Fort on the occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s 345th death anniversary, Shinde also brought up the pending appointment of guardian ministers for Raigad and Nashik districts. He urged Shah to intervene and prioritize both matters at the highest level.
The development comes amid ongoing speculation about friction between Shinde and Ajit Pawar — both key allies in the MahaYuti alliance comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena (Shinde faction), and NCP (Ajit Pawar faction).
While there has been no official response from Ajit Pawar’s side yet, political observers see this meeting as a potential sign of growing unrest within the alliance.
