State level launch of ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ campaign

Cleaning workers are real heroes of Mumbai – Chief Minister Eknath Shinde

The state-level launch of ‘Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 (SHS)’ was launched today by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde from Girgaon Chowpatty in Mumbai. On this occasion Deepak Kesarkar, Guardian Minister of Mumbai City District, Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Guardian Minister of Mumbai Suburban District, Mumbai Municipal Corporation Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani, Principal Secretary of Urban Development Department Dr. KH Govindaraj, Mumbai Collector Sanjay Yadav, Additional Commissioner of Mumbai Municipal Corporation Ashwini Bhide, Army officers, students of Rashtriya Chhatra Sena, NGOs, sanitation workers, citizens etc. were present.

This state level campaign launched by Chief Minister Mr.Shinde will continue till October 2, Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti and the concept of ‘Swabhav Swachhta – Sanskar Swachhta’ will be implemented in the urban and rural areas of the state. Chief Minister Shri. Shinde did. He said that through the initiative of Swachhta Hai Seva Abhiyan, R.R.R. (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) Center is being set up and zero waste program is being implemented at the tourist destination. Plantation and beautification work is going on under the ‘Ek Paid Maa Ke Naam’ initiative. At the same time, the places which are not cleaned regularly have been found and three-point planning has been done to ensure that such places remain clean forever. He also said that everyone’s participation is necessary for this.

The Chief Minister further said that Maharashtra will not fall short anywhere in Swachh Bharat Mission. Maharashtra has been ranked number one in the country in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Under this Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, Mumbai Municipal Corporation has planted one and a half lakh trees during monsoon. In this campaign, 9359 programs have been registered and 4520 locations have been identified under CTU (Cleanliness Target Unit) and the waste will be collected from these locations. The Chief Minister said that 4111 public participation programs will be implemented for this.

After the launch of these campaigns by the Chief Minister Mr. Shinde, the Chief Minister himself started the cleanliness drive at Girgaon Chowpatty. After that, he drove a tractor and collected the garbage with a machine. At the same time, the message ‘Let’s destroy bad thoughts, clean our Maharashtra’ was also written on the board and signed.
