Protestors detained by the Delhi Police near Red Fort

Crores of protesters were detained by the Delhi Police near the Red Fort. When they were imposed there to oppose the Citizenship (Amendment) Act. Tried to carry out a march in defiance of prohibitory orders.

Officials said Yogendra Yadav, the head of the Swaraj campaign, was among those detained.

The protesters, which included activists and students, were pulled into buses to drive them out of the area. Holding placards and shouting slogans, the protesters allowed themselves in buses.

Yadav said, “I know that many of our comrades are being detained, yet many people have gathered here. The citizenship of this country cannot be divided, and this is our opposition today.”

Two protests take place in the national capital, one by students and activists and the other by left parties. Both are scheduled to meet at Shaheen Park near March ITO.
