‘Panipat’ tax free in Maharashtra

The period drama “Panipat” directed by Ashutosh Gowariker will be tax-free in Maharashtra, the film’s makers announced on Thursday.

Featuring Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, and Kriti Sanon, the film is based on the third battle of Panipat which took place in 1761, which was released on December 6, 2019.

According to a statement by Reliance Entertainment,  Panipat’ in Maharashtra is now tax-free.”

Gowariker thanked the state government for its decision on Twitter. “Heartfelt gratitude! Thank you # Honorable Chief Minister @OfficeofUT for granting us a TAX-free status in our effort to bring Maratha glory onscreen through #Panipat!” The filmmaker wrote.

“Panipat” was produced by Vision World, a company of Sunita Gowariker and Rohit Shelatkars.
