Mumbai, Dt. 23
The delegation of Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray group today demanded that a high-level inquiry should be conducted into the tragedy that took place in the Maharashtra Bhushan program and a case of culpable homicide should be filed.
The delegation met Governor Ramesh Bais at Raj Bhavan and demanded that he look into the matter as the head of the state.
Since the incident at Kharghar is a man-made disaster, the state government is trying to hide the true situation. This incident tarnishes the image of Maharashtra. A statement was given to the governor requesting that a high-level inquiry should be conducted in the matter so that such incidents do not occur in the future and the government should be instructed to register a case of culpable homicide against the concerned culprits.
14 crores were spent on Maharashtra Bhushan programme, but no arrangements were made. A demand has also been made to the governor that at least action should be taken against the local senior police who are responsible for the incident and showed negligence in planning.
Opposition leader Ambadas Danve, MP Arvind Sawant and other officials were included in the delegation.
