Free electricity, increased subsidies and faster housing…Maharashtra’s historic achievement in Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana!

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis addressed the audience at the ‘Distribution of Approval Letter to 20 Lakh Beneficiaries and Distribution of First Installment to 10 Lakh Beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) Phase-2’ organized by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah at Balewadi, Pune.

Stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a record 20 lakh houses to Maharashtra in the first year under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) Phase-2, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that 13.57 lakh houses were provided in the first phase of the scheme. Out of which 12.65 lakh houses have been completed and the rest of the houses are in progress.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis congratulated the rural development department of the state for completing the 100-day target of distribution of approval letters for 20 lakh houses and distribution of the first installment to the accounts of 10 lakh beneficiaries in just 45 days, which was given by Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan two months ago. Chief Minister Fadnavis also said that the amount of the first installment will be definitely transferred to the accounts of the remaining 10 lakh beneficiaries in the next 15 days.

Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Grameen) till now subsidy of ₹1 lakh 60 thousand has been given, now it has been increased by ₹50 thousand and the beneficiaries will get more than ₹2 lakh subsidy, Chief Minister Fadnavis said on this occasion. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently given priority to the welfare of the poor, farmers, farm laborers, bara balutedars and due to this, we will give solar subsidy to 20 lakh beneficiaries of the scheme to get free electricity for life.

Chief Minister Fadnavis said that 13.57 lakh houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) phase-1 and 20 lakh houses under phase-2 including Ramai Awas Yojana, Shabari Awas Yojana, Pardhi Awas Yojana, Ahilya Awas Yojana, Atal Praksha Mangar Yojana, Yashwantrao Chavan Mukta Vasahat, Modi Awas for OBCs, a total of 51 lakh houses are under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that an investment of ₹70 thousand crores is being made and if we add solar subsidy to this, we will use the funds of around ₹1 lakh crore only for providing houses to the common man.
