Many big development projects are going to start in Mumbai as well as Maharashtra in the near future. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde today requested that Japan International Cooperation Agency – ‘JICA’ should provide financial support for this.
JICA President Dr. Tanaka Akiko, Chief Representative Saito Mitsunori and other members of the delegation met the Chief Minister and discussed various development projects at the government residence ‘Varsha’.
There was a discussion on JICA’s financing for some other big projects such as the underground metro in Mumbai, the Mumbai-Goa highway and the Virar-Alibag multimodal corridor. Chief Minister Shinde also said that ‘JICA’ will be appointed for financing such big projects and a coordination officer from the state government will be appointed for coordination within the state government.
Metropolitan Commissioner of MMRDA SVR Srinivasan, Director General of Ministry War Room Radhesham Mopalwar, Additional Chief Secretary of Planning Department Rajkumar Deora etc were present on this occasion.
