Meanwhile, local resident Amin Idreesi has alleged that the accident was due to negligence of the developer and the contractor. Earlier on March 29, a dog died in a lightning strike. Police and SRA officials did not take cognizance of the complaint made at that time. Then, in the same place, a 2-year-old boy, Aditya Singh, died in June after falling into the pit of a building under construction. At that time, the police had assured the locals that they would register a crime and investigate and prosecute the culprits. However, no action has been taken to this day, said Mumbai Youth Congress Secretary Deepak Yadav.
