BLOs Active in Political Offices in Dombivli? Serious Questions Raised Over Voter List Revision Campaign

Dombivli, July 16, 2026
A major controversy has erupted in Dombivli West over the ongoing voter list revision campaign (SIR Campaign). Despite explicit guidelines from the Election Commission mandate that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) must conduct door-to-door visits to complete this process, the ground reality appears entirely different. Senior Reporter from Kalyan Dombivli Vijay Raut has raised sharp questions, exposing administrative negligence on social media.

Door-to-Door Claims Fall Flat; Deadline Crisis Looms

According to the directives of the election department, every BLO is required to visit every household at least three times by July 29. The rule specifies that they must visit once to distribute the forms and twice to collect the filled-out forms.

However, local residents of Dombivli West allege that not a single BLO has set foot in their locality so far. With the July 29 deadline fast approaching, citizens are questioning how thousands of forms will be filled and processed in such a short window.

Why are Government Employees Operating from Political Party Offices?

BLOs Active in Political Offices in Dombivli? Serious Questions Raised Over Voter List Revision Campaign

“Revising and updating the voter list is a purely government and administrative process. What does a political party have to do with it? Government employees operating out of political offices is highly suspicious.” — Vijay Raut, Senior Reporter, KDMC

Apprehension of Targeted Deletion of Voter Names

An atmosphere of fear has gripped local citizens, who suspect a potential collusion between certain political parties and the BLOs. There are growing apprehensions that the names of voters who do not support the ruling party might be deliberately and targetedly omitted from the voter list.

Furthermore, since more than half of the population is still unaware of this revision campaign, thousands of long-time, legitimate voters risk losing their voting rights once the deadline expires.

Big Questions Facing the Election Commission
This development has severely dented the credibility of the Election Commission’s claims of a smooth process. Citizens are now demanding direct answers from the administration:

Will this arbitrary and rule-violating practice be stopped immediately?

What action will be taken against the BLOs operating from political offices?

Can the forms of all citizens be filled fairly and transparently before July 29?

Local residents have intensified their demand for a high-level, independent inquiry into the entire matter.
