The statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj erected in Mauritius will be unveiled in Mauritius on April 28. The program will be attended by Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravindra Kumar Jagannath and Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis.
There are about 75 thousand Marathi brothers in Mauritius, they are from Pune, Satara, Ratnagiri and Konkan regions. These congregations have cultivated Marathi tradition and culture. There are about 54 organizations of these Marathi brothers, and all these organizations have formed the Mauritius Marathi Mandali Federation.
This federation was established on May 1, 1960. Shiv Jayanti, Maharashtra Day, Gudhipadwa, Ganesh Chaturthi are celebrated here with great enthusiasm. A Maharashtra Bhavan has also been constructed here, and there are some demands regarding its expansion. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is likely to make some important announcements in this regard during this visit. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has approved Rs 8 crore for these works.
