With constitutional provision for faculty recruitment, Cabinet approves the ‘Central Educational Institution Ordinance 2019’

With the new reforms, the education of India is transforming every day. Today Cabinet approved the revolutionary ordinance. The Union Cabinet today approved the proposal for promulgation of “The Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Teacher’s Cadre) Ordinance, 2019” considering the University/College as one unit.

On this decision, Prakash Jawadekar tweeted, This decision restores earlier reservation system based on 200 point roaster. No longer will ‘Department / Subject’ be treated as one unit.

He said This decision will also address the long-standing demands of persons belonging to SCs/STs/SEBEs and ensure their rights envisaged under the constitution.

Further, he tweeted, This decision will also now pave the way for filling up more than 5000 vacancies by direct recruitment in Teachers’ Cadre.

This ordinance will provide for the reservation of faculty in the appointment by direct recruitment of persons belonging to the SC, ST and Socially and Economically Backward classes in central educational institutions and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

The benefits of the decision are it will provide constitutional provision of reservation of SC and ST and SEBL in faculty recruitment will protect. This will also benefit the resolve of the current impasse in recruitment. This decision will give due opportunity to get jobs in educational institutions. This decision will help to ensure the process of recruitment of faculty is resumed and the vacancies filled up.
